Multi-Organizational Collaboration
A collaboration was formed with the aim of developing comprehensive services for pregnant women with addictions. Local child development and addiction services were pulled into the multi-organizational collaboration by public health staff who had previous relationships with these organizations. Primary care staff had relationships with midwifery services and drew them into the collaboration.
One of the greatest strengths in working in this collaboration was the ability of primary care and public health staff to expand their reach and engage human resources from other service agencies in the collaboration.
